Coated Sodium Butyrate 30% Microcapsule

Application:For Pig, Poultry and Aquaculture

What is Sodium Butyrate?

Sodium butyrate is a kind of sodium salt of the short chain fatty acid (SCFA) butyric acid and used in the diets of pigs and poultry as an energy source for the cells of the intestine, stimulating mucosal growth. It also has a positive effect on the gut microflora.

Why should sodium butyrate be microencapsulated?

As free organic acids are readily absorbed in the upper digestive tract, they have to be protected to pass through stomach to be able to play a role in the hind gut.

Therefore, specific production techniques have been developed in which short chain fatty acids are encapsulated in a vegetable fat matrix, resulting a slow release of the acids during transport through the intestinal tract.
